Vision: We envision a society in which every child realizes their rights and achieves their full potential
Mission: Build the capacity of deprived, excluded and vulnerable children to improve their lives and become leaders who bring lasting and positive change in their communities;
Strategic objectives
1) Promoting access to quality education, health care, nutrition and protection for the children.
2) Enhancing the capacity and resilience of the children and their caregivers to cope with the challenges of poverty and climate change.
3) Advocating for the rights and interests of the children at the county and national level, and engaging them in decision making processes that affect them.
4) Strengthening the coordination and collaboration among different stakeholders, such as government agencies, civil society groups, community leaders and donors, to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services for the children.
5) Mobilizing resources and diversifying income sources to sustain the programs and activities of the organization.
Childrise's primary objective is to nurture growth and well-being of deprived, excluded, and vulnerable (DEV) children to realize their full potential and become responsible citizens who can bring positive change to their families and communities. Currently the organization is supporting over 3000 vulnerable children in Embu and Tharaka Nithi counties. Childrise program priorities endeavors to achieve positive outcomes for children and focuses on children as agents of change and their experience of DEV, engage families and communities and build broad constituency of supporters dedicated to the wellbeing and rights of children.
Guided by community needs assessment the thematic areas of focus of Childrise include Child Protection, Household Economic Strengthening, Early Childhood Development, Education, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Health and Nutrition
In areas where Childrise works, many crosscutting and underlying issues negate children’s right to survival (medical care, nutrition, shelter and clothing); development (education, recreation and rest, parental care and responsibility); protection (against exploitation, abuse, cruelty, child labour, retrogressive cultural practices such as FGM, early marriages…) and participation (opportunities and means to express themselves on matters affecting their lives). The leading crosscutting issues include illiteracy/ignorance, endemic poverty, HIV and AIDS threat, and retrogressive cultural practices and norms.
Supported by financial contributions from sponsors, donors, and partners, encompassing both corporate entities and individual benefactors, we engage in sustained efforts within communities. Our aim is to facilitate their evolution into environments where children can access the resources necessary to realize their full potential across all stages of their life.
